Sasone (the Hebrew word for joy) is a program of the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City that works to ensure that all students with diverse learning needs have access to a Jewish education. Sasone has been a part of the Greater Kansas City community since 1995. Today, the program directly assists 276 children with identified and unidentified special needs and provides support for more than 1200 children in educational settings throughout Kansas City.

Why does inclusion matter?

  • Seven million children and 1 in 4 adults have a disability
  • 1 in 5 Americans live with a mental health condition
  • Nearly 15-20% of school-age students have a learning disability
  • Locally there are over 200 school-age students with diverse needs enrolled in Jewish education programs.
